Quality Assurance Scheme (QAS)
Framework and Line of Communication for Academic Quality Assurance
About the Quality Assurance Scheme
Chattagram International Medical College (CIMC) has been implementing the National Guidelines and Tools for Quality Assurance Scheme (QAS) since 2014. In accordance with national directives, CIMC has established a structured academic quality framework through the Medical Education Unit (MEU).
The QAS ensures continuous improvement in curriculum delivery, assessment, faculty development, and student mentoring through a clearly defined line of communication and accountability.

The following diagram illustrates the organizational structure and communication flow of the Quality Assurance Program (QAP) at CIMC, showing interactions between national bodies, academic committees, phase coordinators, and mentoring systems.

Key Components of the QAS Structure
National & External Oversight
The National Quality Assurance Body (NQAB), external review visit teams, and external examiners ensure compliance with national standards and provide independent evaluation and feedback.
Academic Governance
The Academic Council (AC) and Academic Coordination Committee (ACC) act as the central decision-making and coordinating bodies for academic quality and implementation.
Implementation & Feedback
Phase Coordination Groups, subject teachers, mentoring systems, and ECA activities ensure effective delivery, monitoring, and student-centered feedback at ground level.
Ensuring Excellence Through Structured Quality Assurance
CIMC remains committed to continuous academic quality improvement through a transparent, accountable, and nationally aligned Quality Assurance Scheme.
